We have hit a new milestone
...that many babies reach within weeks of life.
Benjamin fell asleep in his stroller. Twice! You have no idea how ecstatic this makes me. I thought I would never get to use my nice Bob Revolution stroller : ( But I don't have to fret anymore, I just might make every morning nap a time to take a walk, at least until it becomes sweltering hot at 10am. But I have already learned my lesson, wear sunscreen! 45 min in the sun at 10am = one heck of a sunburn on my shoulders and neck. (sorry skin, I'll continue to check you for cancer since I burned you a few too many times on the shoulders during my softball days).
Other than that monumentous feat, Benjamin is muttering mamama and dadada a lot, as well as muttering the same mumble every time he wants to kick something. His little sweet babbles melt this mama's heart.
He has also slept from 9 to 2:30 three out of the last four nights! woopeeeee. Yes, we have a ways to go, but it has been wonderful. I am also having him go to sleep on his own, 11 months of dancing, swaying, jumping, knee bends to get him to sleep is long enough.
Benjamin loves to eat. Along with still nursing 6ish times a day, he can shove down the food at dinnertime.
His alltime favs: applesauce, graham crackers, cheese. He eats at least one of those a day, but still loves blueberries, green beans, bread, anything orange (mandarin oranges, sweet potatoes, etc), bananas, lunch meat, etc. He is not so much a fan of the quinoa that I've been cooking a lot of thanks to my ILs giving me a Costco-sized bag of it (yum yum). But I can coax him into eating anything with I give him an applesauce chaser : )
And now, some pics from this week:

Long Awaited
.. house pictures.
We are STILL waiting for it to quit raining for more than 1 day so the outside can be finished. At this rate, the Ma and Pa Treeriver's house will be done before mine (but not before square finished High School!).
*disclaimer....some of these pictures I am only showing you because you are either family or close friend. I normally would straighten up a bit (like the bathrooms) before strangers saw it!

*here's where it gets really messy!*

that's all now folks. as you can tell, the house isn't done yet, but definitely livable. we are loving it!
square, time to visit your creation!

stove top and pantry
master bath.

Yippee!
Benjamin muttered "mom" last night : )
and, he spent his first day at a babysitter's house yesterday. Despite my concern for the sitter, everyone survived.
Benjamin and I have had a fun day of playing, reading books, listening to music, and going to the grocery store, where I let him push the cart for a few feet.

10 months and counting
Sorry for the hiatus. We've moved into our new house, and along with that, have been living without the world wide web for quite a few days.
As with all babies, Benjamin is ever changing....
As expected...he is a scrawny thing. 17 lb 13 oz (5th percentile)
and about 40th % in height. Doc Paul said that the leveling off of weight was normal in breastfed babies, and that as long as he continues to eat well, I shouldn't be concerned.
I think that if my son weren't such a wonderful ball of energy that maybe he could gain some weight. If I moved like he did everyday, I would look like a model!
The camera was packed away with everything else in the move, so here are some pictures supplied by Gma Cow.
As with all babies, Benjamin is ever changing....
- He now has two upper and two lower teeth.
- His took two steps on Saturday
- He is babbling a lot more, and also likes to growl
- He has learned to "pant" like a dog whenever he sees a puppy dog
- He loves putting things in his mouth, especially dirt and twigs
- He can now crawl up and down an entire flight of stairs by himself (although I'm always close by)
- He loves balls, probably because of their usefulness as combo chew toy/something to kick
