We've been busy
Whew, sorry for the lack of posts.
We've been busy with hubby out of town, trip down south for my sister's baby shower, extra work days for me, etc.
Benjamin is now 8 months old. wow. they do grow up fast. He is now crawling all over the duplex. I believe it is time to invest in some baby gates, and find the elusive pack in play (which is somewhere at our place, or my parent's) so I can get stuff done around the house without the danger of B getting into something he shouldn't. It isn't really the crawling that worries me, it is fact that he pulls up on everything, then tries to move around, and falls and conks his head, or grabs paper and tries to eat it.
Speaking up pulling up, he is now a pro at this. His favorite thing to go is to pull up on the coffee table and get the remote, or stand up on his "train".
His other new trick is turning over quickly so I can't get a diaper on him. fun : )

Oh, and we had our first bit of sickness. Benjamin woke up screaming every 20 -30 mins all night on Wednesday and Thursday, and would wake up if we were not holding him. Thursday, hubby had off, so he took him to see a nurse practitioner in town, and she thought he just has a cold. After another night of screaming and a 102 temp, I decided that something must be wrong, so I took him to his normal pedi. The doc found a throat infection, and prescribed some antibiotics and encouraged us to continue ibuprofen and tylenol. The snot also runneth, so we've been suctioning that out. After a few good suctions, and some tylenol... last night was much better, and he continues to improve. I'm not sure if it is related to his sickness, but Benjamin took a 1nr 45 nap this am, and a 2 hr nap with afternoon, a record, and he has been very easy to get down. I'm hoping this continues.
At our house, the cabinets are being installed! Here are a few quick pics.

Babyproofing time
benjamin is definitely on the move. No longer content to just sit where placed, the little guy immediately starts crawling in the direction of where he wants to go. At my house, he crawls toward Scott or I....or the open pantry door. At my mom's, it is toward the coffee pot.
He is now eating three "meals" a day. Oatmeal in the AM and PM and a fruit or veggie AM, noon, and PM. He has now tried sweet potato, pumpkin, mango, pear, apple, prunes, avocado, peas, spinach/pear combo, and sweet potato/corn combo. He will eat everything but the peas...just like his Grammy Cady, and Grandpa Mooherd.
