Growing Cady: June 2010

We've been busy around the Cady household. We finally decided that the 30-40 min of rocking, dancing, jumping around to get Benjamin to sleep needed to stop. It is time for him to learn to fall asleep on his own. We are on Day 4 of "Ferberizing"...sleep training. Each night we put him down awake, and check in on him in increasing intervals 3/5/7/10mins, and stick with 10 min thereafter and the time increases each night. While he is sleeping better once he falls asleep, but I am not currently sure that it will work, but I'll try a little longer. Most kids learn to just fall asleep earlier and earlier...he hasn't, it takes about 45 min each night. (and it breaks my heart to hear him cry). Other than that, Benjamin has taken off. My goodness can that boy walk, and almost run. He loves picking up the soccer ball, walking with it, dropping it and kicking it..and repeating. Tonight, we took our first trip to the pool. Benjamin had a great time even though the water was chilly from the recent rain.
