I'm one month old

Yesterday, Benjamin turned one month old! Benjamin's great-grandparents come to visit this past weekend. It was great to see them. My Grandma was able to quiet Benjamin down while she was here (well, one time at least, he was not on his best behavior....and showed my grandparents his amazing lungs).

Benjamin had his one month checkup this week. His appointment was on Tuesday, but his sleep deprived mother(that's me, folks!) drove to KC on Monday for his appointment, thankfully they got us in! Benjamin is still growing, but he is only in the 25th percentile in all the areas. It's hard for a little guy to catch up when you start out such a little squirt.

Here is what I know after taking care of Benjamin for one month:

• He loves his mama...well, he loves to eat, nibble, snack, be attached to mama. He tries hard to latch on to Hubby's forearm, but it just doesn't produce the same results : ) Fortunately, I've learned how to multi-task (yes, I'm cooking while nursing)
• He loves motion. Thank goodness for the Moby wrap that my mom made. He can be very fussy, and all I have to do is strap him in this contraption, started walking very fast, and he is out like a light. My mom thinks that he'll love roller coasters one day. He also loves the up and down motion. Hubby, my mom, and myself and lifted Benjamin in the car seat up and down more times that we can count (and we are all suffering from Baby elbow, back aches, etc because of it!)
• He doesn't like to fall asleep. The boy will try his very hardest to hold his eyes open as long as humanly possible.
• He loves the outdoors. He seems to like to stare up at the sky, and be outside in general. He is much calmer outdoors.
• He hates wet diapers. He'll sit in poop all day long and not care (not that I actually let this occur), but as soon as he wets a diaper, he want it off. He'll scream until he is blue in the face to alert us to the fact that his diaper is wet. We have also determined that it is much easier to tell in cloth diapers. We are always at a lose when we are travelling out and about in a sposie and have to try to decide if he is wet (I apparently can't get the hang of disposables, it takes me twice the time to change them)
• He likes the sound of the shower and vacuum cleaner. He'll go quiet at the sound of either of these.
• He dislikes pacifiers with a passion. Only on vary rare occasions will Benjamin put up with a pacifier in his mouth. Other times, he'll scream if you try to attempt it. (much to my mother's dismay)
• He only likes car rides if he is asleep when he is placed in the car. Otherwise: fuss-city USA
• Oh, and he is the cutest baby ever! eventhough he often has this look on his face

In non-baby news, our house is coming together! We got the floor in today. Now I really have to make a ton of decisions, stat.
